The Elegy

The first part of a self-devouring trilogy themed around death, immolation and rebirth, Nick Hudson’s first release on Kiddiepunk Records, ‘The Elegy’ verges on the sublime so frequently that it seems like he must have made a deal with an omnipotent deity. At once tender, expansive, intimate and beautiful, ‘The Elegy’ occupies that infinite, indefinable space in between the worlds; a place that words can not define or describe; songs that open up entire, utterly vivid and transcendant 'scapes. Spare, haunting and delicately forthright, ‘The Elegy’ weaves together chant, folk-song, Americana, and subtle electronics to create a deeply stirring and evocative work.

Recorded, played and written by Nick Hudson using a guitar, a microphone, some voices, a woodblock, a tambourine, a tin whistle, a glockenspiel.
